OpTiC wins Reykjavík Major; trailer for new agent Fade

OpTiC Gaming has just won the Valorant Major in Reykjavik. The American team managed to beat Brazilian LOUD in the finals with impressive results: 3-0. At the same time, a new trailer was also released earlier today in which we are introduced to Fade.

Let's start with OpTiC Gaming. America's number two team had a tremendously strong tournament in Iceland. The team was defeated by Team Liquid in the group stage, followed by a match against American champion The Guard. That team was too strong for OpTiC in the final of the American championships last month.

This time, however, it was OpTiC that was stronger (2-1), after which DRX was also defeated (2-1). In the semi-finals OpTiC lost to Brazilian LOUD (2-1), but after a resounding victory over ZETA DIVISION from Japan (3-0) a rematch against the Brazilians followed. This time OpTiC Gaming did win, the American team put LOUD aside with 3-0.

G2 Esports, the best European team, finished in a disappointing fifth place, the other European teams also had bad performances; Team Liquid (seventh) and Fnatic (last) will not look back on the past weeks with happiness.

There was not only esports news from Reykjavik today, as Riot Games showed a trailer of its new agent, namely Fade. Fade is a Turkish character and is an Initiator. It seems that she uses shadows to make the lives of her opponents miserable.

Leading up to Fade's reveal, many teasers were found with „fear“ as the theme. By Riot Games, Fade is described as an agent who stalks her prey with both terror and tactics, so that theme seems to be entirely accurate.
