Overwatch 2 Colosseo Map May Hint at New Hero
With more and more images from the Overwatch 2 alpha version surfacing, a number of players have noticed that one of the new maps, Colosseo, may hint at the sequel's next new Hero: Zephyrus.
Overwatch developers are known for hiding easter eggs, about future heroes, in the various maps. For example, posters of Junker Queen hung in the Junkertown map, and many easter eggs of Sigma could be found on Lijang Tower.
The same can be said for the sequel, Overwatch 2, as the sequel not only packs a lot of new content such as Sojourn and a number of hero-reworks, but also introduces four new maps.
Within one of these new maps, Colosseo, some players have spotted hints about the game's possible next hero.
Hints
Youtuber Master Ian Gamer has spotted several hints and references about the next possible Hero, Zephyrus, in Colosseo, one of Overwatch 2's new maps.
Prior to the alpha version of the game, players could see a poster where two gladiators were fighting each other, and seemingly controlled by humans. One gladiator was named Zephyrus and the other Maximus.
As some players have now been given more access to the game, more hints may be discovered. The Youtuber Master Ian Gamer found a screen in a bar, which contained more information about the fighting gladiators. Thanks to this screen, more information about Zephyrus‘ character design could be discovered.
Because of the Italian flag next to his name, it seems that Zephyrus is from Italy or at least represents Italy in combat. He also has a pair of wings sticking out of his back that are very similar to Mercy's, possibly indicating that he can fly. He also appears to carry two thin swords as weapons, which no other Hero within Overwatch has yet.
Unfortunately, due to the release of Sojourn, the chances of another new Hero are pretty low. In fact, Blizzard has already confirmed that only one new Hero will be added upon the release of Overwatch 2.
