Team Invicibles disqualified from CDL Challengers

As esports teams compete for $75,000 (67,000 euros) in the CDL Minnesota ROKKR Challengers Open, the European team, Team Invicibles, has been forced to abandon a folder in their series after using inappropriate language against their opponents.

First Challengers Open since 2020

The Minnesota ROKKR Challengers Open not only marks the return of in-person Call of Duty events, but it also marks the first Challengers Open LAN since March 2020.

In the Challenger phase, non-franchise teams have the opportunity to fight their way through a grueling tournament schedule. This schedule often leads to late nights and early mornings. And all to compete in the CDL Pro-AM Classic in May.

One of these non-franchise teams, was the European team: Team Invincibles, which in a match against a team called: Team WaR, was forced to give up a map in their series, after addressing the opponent in an inappropriate manner.

Team Invicibles received three warnings

Twitter user Nfinity Tweeted „So Team Invincibles has had to give up Map 2 in the series against Team WaR due to misconduct, reportedly the team received three warnings. Really disappointed in Invincibles if true.“

This was later confirmed by the infamous esports coach ‚Chitasaz_‘ on Twitter, where he gave some more details about what Team Invincibles said during the match that ultimately led to disqualification.

„Rafi's team Invincibles won Map 1 and were forced to give up Map 2 after saying ‚raped‘ to the opponent on every kill.“
