FPX returns to CS:GO

FunPlus Phoenix has announced its re-entry into Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. After last year's failed attempt, everything is now to be better.

Via social media, FunPlus Phoenix has announced its intention to compete again in CS:GO. The roster is a full package of old acquaintances, which was released just two weeks ago at GODSENT. While the Swedish organization now relies on an all-Brazilian team, FPX is looking to attack with its well-rehearsed mix.

DreamHack Open ahead

The first match for the team in new jersey will be at DreamHack Open January: Europe. FPX is in a group with BIG, HellRaisers and the Evil Geniuses.

So the team lineup is as follows:

  • Jonatan „Devilwalk“ Lundberg (Coach)
  • Pavle „maden“ Boskovic
  • Asger „farlig“ Jensen
  • Jesse „zehN“ Linjala
  • Martin „STYKO“ Styk

So the fifth active player is still open. But since the DH Open starts tomorrow, the announcement won't be too long in coming. The opener will be FunPlus Phoenix against EG.

Not present at DreamHack, but a potential opponent of future tournaments, G2 Esports, didn't miss the chance to react to the announcement.

It remains to be seen how the roster will present itself in the future. Most recently, there was a 3rd-4th place finish at DreamHack Masters Winter 2020 under the GODSENT banner, which ended in a 1-2 loss to mousesports.
