LoL: 20 champions balanced

The last LoL patch was all about Viego, the newest champion in the Rift. For 11.3, it's back to business: 20 balance changes are coming.

A total of 20 champions are undergoing changes in the latest League of Legends patch.

Surprisingly, Viego, which was only introduced last week, is not on the list, at least not in the patch previews. Seems like Riot has managed to unleash the newest champion onto the Rift in a reasonably balanced way this time around. Past examples like Samira or Yone sometimes had to be adjusted via hotfix a few hours after release.

The buff to nerf ratio is almost balanced this time around: Nine buffs versus ten nerfs.

Nerfs:

  • Anivia
  • Cho'Gath
  • Elise
  • Ivern
  • Olaf
  • Pantheon
  • Rammus
  • Seraphine
  • Taliyah
  • Udyr

Olaf is a pick where it was almost clear that the nerf hammer would hit him, after his sometimes overwhelming performances both in Solo Queue and Pro-Play. Speaking of Pro-Play, two LEC teams, G2 and SK Gaming, chose Ivern for their top lane last weekend. It remains to be seen whether the magic tree will still be a valid option in the coming matchdays. If the nerfs are too strong, Ivern could disappear into his bushes as quickly as he came.

Buffs:

  • Ezreal
  • Jinx
  • Karma
  • Murder Emperor
  • Riven
  • Shyvana
  • Singed
  • Sylas
  • Vladimir

In terms of buffs, Patch 11.3 focuses primarily on the top lane. With Mordekaiser, Riven, Singed and Vladimir, four of the nine buffed champions are located on the top lane. The rest are spread across the jungle and the botlane.

With Rell, the upcoming patch adjusts yet another champion. However, the metal mage will not be buffed or generated as much as she will be reworked in general.

Patch 11.3 is scheduled to go live on February 3. Details about the individual champion adjustments will be published later today.
