EA wants to make Battlefield 2042 possibly free-to-play

EA is disappointed with the success of Battlefield 2042. The publisher had expected more from the big game and may be going to use drastic measures to still make the new Battlefield a success.

EA does not seem to be happy with Battlefield 2042. In a tweet posted by Tom Henderson, he says that the publisher is disappointed with the success of Battlefield 2042. According to Henderson, EA is currently looking at options surrounding Battlefield 2042. One of the options that would be considered is to make the game free-to-play. Battlefield 2042 was met with mixed reviews from players at launch and the community has gradually dropped off. Many players feel that things need to change about the game, as there are still serious problems.

In an effort to improve the game, updates are released to fix known bugs and problems. Battlefield recently released the first major update for the game. The update brings „a number of minor fixes and improvements focused on stability.

Yet the community is not only happy with the new update, many players find it outrageous that something is only now being done about the known problems. The bigger problems seem to be fixed next month. A major update is coming in February that will fix most of the problems. One of the most noteworthy changes coming is the addition of a new scoreboard. The new scoreboard will show much more information than the current model. For example, it will now be possible to see details about the rounds, the best scoring players and what ribbons have all been earned.

Battlefield 2042 was released on November 19 for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC. What major changes will be coming is not yet entirely clear, but the move to free-to-play will undoubtedly attract many new players.
