Lego Overwatch Custom Hero Minifigs

You can see how one dedicated fan combined a love of LEGO and Overwatch to build nine detailed hero minifigures using only spare parts. The custom figures recreate recognizable characters, including newer additions to the roster, despite the limits of a personal brick collection.

As Overwatch marks its 10th anniversary and expands its current story arc with multiple new heroes, projects like this highlight the game’s lasting influence. You get a clear example of how community creativity continues to grow alongside the evolving roster, even beyond officially licensed LEGO sets.

LEGO Fan Creates 9 Custom Minifigures of Overwatch Heroes

You can see how Reddit user Alive-Selection1766 translated nine heroes from Overwatch’s 52-character lineup into detailed LEGO minifigures. The selection covers multiple eras of the game and reflects the current role and sub-role system introduced during the Reign of Talon seasonal updates.

The lineup includes:

  • Ramattra — Tank (Stalwart)
  • Brigitte — Support (Survivor)
  • Zenyatta — Support (Tactician)
  • Moira — Support (Medic)
  • Echo — Damage (Recon)
  • Bastion — Damage (Specialist)
  • Venture — Damage (Flanker)
  • Ashe — Damage (Sharpshooter)
  • Shion — Damage (Flanker)

You get three Support heroes, five Damage heroes, and one Tank. That balance mirrors how players often build team compositions in the live game.

Sub-roles now grant each hero a passive ability tied to their battlefield identity. By organizing the minifigures around these updated classifications, the builder reflects the modern structure of Overwatch rather than its original 2016 launch format.

Most figures rely on standard LEGO minifigure components. However, the Omnic characters—Ramattra, Zenyatta, and Bastion—use more specialized elements to capture their mechanical designs.

Bastion stands out in particular. One community member suggested adapting a headpiece from the Iron Man & War Machine vs. Hammer Drones LEGO Marvel set because of its close resemblance to Bastion’s facial structure. The comparison makes sense, and it shows how you can repurpose existing parts to solve design challenges.

Shion may be the most ambitious build in the group. As one of the newest heroes added during Reign of Talon Season 3, she already has strong player interest.

This custom version includes her motorcycle, recreating the vehicle tied to her Joyride ability. You can position the bike alongside the minifigure, giving the display added motion and context rather than presenting a static character alone.

Notably, none of these nine heroes received official LEGO minifigure releases. LEGO produced nine licensed Overwatch sets before discontinuing the line, and only Bastion appeared—exclusively as a larger brick-built model rather than a standard minifigure.

You can view this project as a continuation of a retired product line. Since Blizzard released Overwatch on May 24, 2016, the franchise has maintained a steady stream of heroes, but official LEGO support has ended.

Fan creations like this now fill that gap. By working strictly with available spare parts, you can reinterpret Blizzard’s first-person shooter roster in brick form without relying on new or custom-molded pieces.
