You may block another Fortnite player during a tense moment and later decide you want to play together again. This often happens with past teammates or friends you want to reconnect with.
You can reverse a block quickly using Fortnite’s built-in social tools. The steps stay simple and work the same way across platforms, so you can get back to playing without delays.
How to Unblock Someone on Fortnite
You manage blocked players directly inside Fortnite, and the steps stay consistent across consoles, mobile devices, and PCs. Start from the main menu and select your profile icon, shown as a circular avatar in the corner of the screen.
Open the Social area and scroll until you reach your blocked players list. This list stores every account you previously restricted from interacting with you.
Follow these steps to remove a block:
- Open the blocked players list in Social.
- Find the player you want to restore contact with.
- Select their profile to open player options.
- Choose Unblock, then confirm the action.
After you unblock someone, Fortnite returns their account to a neutral state. You can message, invite, or play with them again if both sides agree.
Keep the following details in mind:
- Unblocking does not restore friendship automatically.
- You or the other player must send a new friend request.
- You can unblock as many players as you want without limits.
Fortnite applies the same unblock process on every supported platform.
| Platform | Unblock Method |
|---|---|
| PlayStation | In-game Social menu |
| Xbox | In-game Social menu |
| Nintendo Switch | In-game Social menu |
| PC | In-game Social menu |
| Android & iOS | In-game Social menu |
You do not need the Epic Games Launcher to unblock players if the block occurred inside Fortnite itself.
