The initial roster includes Aksum, Egypt, Maya, Maurya, Rome, and Shawnee. Each civilization features unique abilities and units that will shape early gameplay experiences. Aksum, for instance, will excel in trade and resource management, leveraging its „Kingdom of Natural Wealth“ ability to boost gold production from coastal and river cities.
Civilization 7 will introduce a new three-age progression system, comprising Antiquity, Exploration, and Modern ages. This system will allow players to „mix and match“ leaders to customize their empires further. The game focuses on the evolving nature of cultures and empires, offering fresh gameplay mechanics and a departure from familiar elements like barbarians and workers.
