Path Of Exile 2 The Third Edict Patch Notes
Path of Exile 2 recently expanded with the launch of its third major update, The Third Edict, which introduced Act 4, new interludes, and the Rise of the Abyssal league. These additions reshaped the game’s structure by removing the older difficulty tiers and refining endgame progression, drawing a sharp increase in player activity and positive reception from the community.
With the scale of these changes, several issues surfaced, ranging from balance concerns to technical problems. Grinding Gear Games has prepared Patch 0.3.0b to address these areas, offering adjustments to boss encounters, improvements to combat mechanics, and fixes to stability problems that affected gameplay during the new league.
Path of Exile 2: The Third Edict Patch 0.3.0b Patch Notes (September 2025)
Adjustments to Abyssal League Content
The Abyssal encounters introduced in The Third Edict have been refined to provide smoother pacing and more consistent combat feedback. Several monsters have had their skills rebalanced to reduce frustration while still maintaining a meaningful threat.
- Spectre Options Expanded – Players can now raise Abyssal monsters as Spectres, opening up new minion build possibilities.
- Vessel of Kulemak Revisions – Its teleport slam attack can no longer be avoided, but the damage has been toned down. The sweeping arena cleave now has clearer visual cues and is easier to evade in the final phase.
- Map Modifier Update – The “Overrun by Abyssals” modifier spreads Abyssal Pits across a wider area, increasing encounter density.
Enemy-specific changes bring further balance:
- Strider of the Pit: Spear Slam now has a global cooldown. Their storm-tracking ability disengages if the player is far enough away.
- Abyssal Stranglers: Crystal Wall damage reduced.
- Shepherd of the Pit: Movement speed lowered, with reduced ground effect damage.
- Lightless Moray: Invulnerability visuals improved; shade explosion ignite chance and damage reduced.
- Progressive Skill Unlocks: Abyssal monsters now stagger their skill introductions across Acts 1–3 instead of having their full skill set from the start.
- Visual Effects: Motion blur when Abyssal Pits close has been removed for clearer visuals.
These changes aim to make Abyssal encounters more readable while keeping their challenge intact.
