At first, the Houston Outlaws had posted only a mysterious picture, and confirmation followed a little later. Jacob “JAKE” Lyon will compete again at the Overwatch League Season 2021. “Once outlaw, always outlaw”, the tweet says.As early as 2017, JAKE was a participant in the Overwatch World Cup and was instrumental in making the US defeat against South Korea extremely close.

JAKE the bright spot

In recent seasons, outlaws have lagged far behind expectations. Last year it was a disappointing 12th to 13th place, and in 2019 they even missed the playoffs. Nevertheless, JAKE was considered the bright spot of the roster and now raises hopes among fans that the new year could be better.

According to his own twitler, he rediscovered his motivation for competitive play. “I really needed this break last season to recover. I changed my diet, training, sleep better, and actively embraced habits,” says JAKE.

Even though he is again listed as an active player, he is more likely to see himself in a coaching role and is ready to leave the field to the other DPS colleagues.

“I'm happy to be back with old friends and fresh talent. I think that together we can deliver a season that surpasses everything we have done so far in outlaws.”

Philadelphia Fusion merciless

While the reactions of the fans are mostly very positive, the ever-better posted Philadelphia Fusion could not be taken from a bitter spell.

“Is he getting his old number back or does he have to ruin another one?” – badass, but I don't think to take it seriously. The team finished second in 2018 after losing to London Spitfire in the Grand Final in 2018.
