If you are working toward the Table Flip title during the Overwatch Anniversary 2026 event, you now have an easier path. You only need to complete 38 event challenges instead of the original 48, reducing the overall grind required to unlock the reward.
Blizzard also extended the anniversary event through the end of Season 2, giving you more time to finish your challenges. Game director Aaron Keller confirmed the change and said the update addresses confusion around the original requirements while keeping the celebration active longer.
Overwatch Anniversary 2026 Event Extension
Blizzard launched the 10th Anniversary event on May 12, with an initial end date of June 2. The team has now pushed the event through the remainder of Season 2, giving you additional time to complete challenges and claim rewards.
Game director Aaron Keller confirmed the change and tied it directly to confusion around one specific cosmetic reward. Many players did not clearly understand the effort required to unlock the Table Flip player title.
To address this, Blizzard reduced the requirement for that title:
| Requirement | Original | Updated |
|---|---|---|
| Challenges needed for Table Flip | 48 | 38 |
You now need to finish 38 event challenges instead of 48 to earn the title. This adjustment lowers the overall grind while keeping the reward tied to consistent participation.
Players who already unlocked the original Table Flip title under the 48-challenge requirement will not lose recognition. In a future patch, Blizzard will grant them a new Double Table Flip title as a distinct bonus.
Keller explained that the team still wants certain rewards to feel rare and meaningful. However, unclear expectations prevented some players from realizing how much progress the title required, which may have caused them to miss out.
By extending the event and lowering the requirement, Blizzard aims to correct that issue during the current season. The developers also plan to revisit how Anniversary events work in the future, with more updates expected later this year.
Overwatch 10th Anniversary event update
Blizzard adjusted the 2026 anniversary event after player feedback. You now earn rewards faster, and the weekly loot box totals increased.
- Week 2: Community loot boxes doubled
- Week 3: Community loot boxes tripled
- Total matches required: Reduced to 60 games to unlock all 15 Anniversary loot boxes
During the third week, you also received a free 10th Anniversary Loot Box with four guaranteed Legendary skins. This bonus box added to the event’s confirmed Legendary rewards.
Possible drops included skins such as Bushi Genji, Shieldmaiden Brigitte, Pajamei Mei, and Jester Junkrat.
These changes made it easier for you to complete challenges and secure high-tier cosmetics before the event ended on June 2, 2026.
