Overwatch 2 Heroes Doomfist and Orisa get major reworks
Blizzard, the developer of Overwatch 2, has revealed many major changes to the Heroes Doomfist and Orisa a week before the Overwatch 2 public beta goes live.
The new Hero Sojourn is not the only thing Blizzard has added to Overwatch 2. The developer announced via Twitter that two familiar Heroes are going to get a rework, effectively making them completely new characters.
Details about the changes to the two heroes had previously leaked out, but Blizzard has finally gone into more detail about how these reworks will play out in the 5v5 game mode.
Doomfist No Longer a DPS Hero
Doomfist has received a major rework. He is no longer a DPS Hero, but has now been turned into a tank with 450 HP.
Although his Uppercut has been removed, he has now gained a brand new ability that allows him to use his gauntlet more defensively: Power Block. This allows him to protect himself from frontal attacks and use the damage to charge up his Rocket Punch.
Rocket Punch has been slightly modified, however, the ability now deals slightly less damage, but it takes much less time to charge. Furthermore, his Seismic Slam has also been modified to behave more like Winston's jump, and now also slows down hit targets.
Orisas gets new ability
Unlike Doomfist, Orisa does not change roles. However, her abilities Protective Barrier, Halt and Supercharger have been removed.
Fortunately, she has been given a number of new abilities instead. The new ability Energy Javelin knocks enemies into a wall as soon as she makes contact with them.
Javelin Spin is also a new ability, which allows her to destroy incoming projectiles, hit enemies and thus increase her movement speed. A big improvement to the slower OW1 version of Orisa.
