Ludwig leaves Twitch and opts for YouTube Gaming
Internet celebrity Ludwig Ahgren is leaving his post at streaming service Twitch and choosing a new path. The content creator is moving on at YouTube Gaming. Via Twitter, the streamer shared the announcement creatively.
This makes Ludwig yet another streamer to switch to Google's streaming service. In recent months, several big names walked the same path. YouTube has been offering streamers exclusive contracts for several months now. For example, DrLupo, TimTheTatMan and Valkyrae, among others, went to YouTube Gaming.
Choice
In an interview, Ludwig explains why he changed platforms. To the outside world, it seems like a strange and unexpected choice to leave the platform. Ludwig is nicknamed the „golden boy of Twitch,“ but the content creator did not get that feeling. Despite making very large profits for the streaming platform, he received very little in return. Ludwig was treated like any other streamer and it didn't feel like Twitch respected him and his content.
The streamer did get that feeling in his negotiations at YouTube. The company listened to his needs and ideas. In addition, Ludwig states that YouTube Gaming has proven to listen to the community in order to improve the stream experience for both streamers and viewers.
YouTube Gaming
The main reason Ludwig ultimately chose YouTube is that it gives him more time for other things. Google's streaming platform demands fewer stream hours from the content creator. This allows Ludwig to focus more on other projects besides streaming. For example, he would like to host the biggest Smash Melee and Ultimate tournament ever. Something he probably needed another subathon for at Twitch to get done.
For the subscribers of the streamer nothing will change, everything can easily be transferred from Twitch to YouTube. We now await Ludwig's first YouTube stream and the new projects that the content creator has planned.
