How To Move Valorant To Another Drive

Many players choose to move Valorant from one drive to another to manage storage space or improve performance, especially when upgrading from an HDD to an SSD. Because the game receives frequent updates that expand its size, reinstalling it each time can take considerable time and bandwidth.

Understanding how to transfer the game correctly helps prevent unnecessary downloads and setup issues. While the process may seem straightforward, it requires attention to detail to ensure the Riot Client and game files remain properly linked after the move.

How to Transfer Valorant Location

Players can relocate Valorant to another drive without reinstalling it by moving its existing files and updating the Riot Client path.

Follow these steps:

  1. Locate the current Valorant installation folder, usually under C:\Riot Games.
  2. Right-click the VALORANT folder and select Cut.
  3. Navigate to the target drive, create a new folder named Riot Games, and Paste the copied folder inside.
  4. Open the Riot Client and select Valorant.
  5. When prompted with an error, click Install, then select the folder icon beside the install path.
  6. Enter the new directory manually and confirm.
  7. The client will verify the files and enable the Play button.
