Call of Duty League announces annual schedule
A few days after the schedule for the Kick-Off Classic was announced, the Call of Duty League has now announced the schedule for the rest of the year. This season there are four cities hosting a major and there are two other tournaments.
The four majors are LAN events for now, which means that there will be an audience. But the organization indicates that because of the corona measures nothing is certain yet.
Schedule
In total there are six tournaments in this Call of Duty season, of which four are majors. Each major is hosted by one of the teams in their respective city. Prior to each major, there are three weeks of online qualifying rounds. OpTic Texas hosts the first tournament which takes place March 3 through 6. Online qualification for this is from February 4 through 20. From March 11 through March 27 are the online competitions for the Minnesota RØKKR major which is March 31 through April 3. On June 2 to 5 it is the turn of Toronto Ultra to host a major, prior to that on May 13 to 29 are the online competitions. Finally, it is up to the New York Subliners to host a tournament. On July 1 through 17 is qualifying for the event itself on July 21 through 24.
Between the second and third major is the midseason break. The midseason break consists of an All-Star Weekend, a Warzone tournament and a Pro-Am Classic. The Warzone tournament has a prize pool of $100,000 and the Pro-Am Classic has as much as $250,000.
Championship Weekend
All tournaments are ultimately preparation for the final tournament of the year: the Call of Duty Championship weekend. Here the best teams compete for the world title. For this tournament, too, it is planned that fans will be present. When and where exactly the tournament will take place is not yet known, however.
