Bratishkin: “Twitch Will Leave Our Region — We Have the Highest Level of Traffic Manipulation”

Russian streamer Vladimir Semenyuk, better known as Bratishkin, has voiced serious doubts about Twitch’s long-term future in Russia. According to him, internal sentiment within the platform suggests that Twitch may eventually withdraw from the region due to widespread abuse and manipulation of viewer traffic.

Reflecting on the broader ecosystem, Bratishkin painted a grim picture of competitive integrity — particularly around esports broadcasts.

“I don’t trust a single person involved in CS tournaments,” he said. “All we can do is wait for Twitch to release some kind of solution — but I don’t think they will release anything at all.”

“Our Region Leads in Traffic Manipulation”

Bratishkin claims that the scale of artificial viewership inflation in Russia has reached a critical level. According to him, internal reports allegedly support the idea that Twitch sees the region as uniquely problematic.

“Our staff believes Twitch will leave our region,” Bratishkin stated. “We are the region with the highest amount of traffic manipulation. I think holding that top spot could ultimately force them to give up on us.”

If accurate, such a move would have massive implications for Russian streamers, esports coverage, and betting-related viewership tied to live broadcasts on Twitch.

Context Within the Russian Streaming Scene

The discussion around inflated numbers and artificial traffic has been a recurring theme in the Russian streaming community. Earlier, fellow streamer Maddison claimed that, based purely on legitimate online traffic and excluding any form of manipulation, he would be the most popular streamer in Russia.

Bratishkin’s comments add further fuel to an ongoing debate about trust, transparency, and sustainability — not just for individual creators, but for Twitch’s regional strategy as a whole.

Whether Twitch will actually exit Russia remains unconfirmed. But if the platform does decide to pull back, traffic manipulation and the lack of effective countermeasures may end up being a decisive factor.
