The wait for Grand Theft Auto VI appears to be firmly on track. According to Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar Games is preparing to kick off its full marketing campaign for GTA 6 in summer 2026, with the game officially scheduled to launch on November 19 – and without further delays.
Following an earlier internal shift in the release window, Take-Two has now made it clear that development is progressing as planned. The publisher emphasized that Rockstar has no intention of pushing the release date back again.
Take-Two CEO Confident About Release Timing
When asked directly about the likelihood of GTA 6 hitting its planned release date, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick expressed strong confidence in the current schedule.
„I'm satisfied [with the progress]. Yes, I feel good about it,“ Zelnick said. „When you're working in marketing, you're naturally in a position where confidence is at its highest.“
His comments suggest that Rockstar has reached a stage in development where timelines are considered stable – a significant signal given the scale and expectations surrounding GTA 6.
No Delay Expected, $80 Price Point Rumored
Industry insider Tom Henderson had previously stated that GTA 6 would not be delayed, reinforcing Take-Two's messaging. Henderson also claimed that the game will launch with a $80 price tag, potentially setting a new standard for AAA releases.
If confirmed, that pricing would reflect both rising development costs and the unprecedented scope expected from Rockstar's next open-world blockbuster.
With a fixed release date, a summer marketing rollout, and growing confidence from both executives and insiders, GTA 6 is shaping up to be one of the most tightly controlled – and highly anticipated – launches in gaming history. All eyes are now on Rockstar's first major marketing beat, expected later this year.
