The latest patch focuses on enhancing the Portal feature introduced in the Edge of Fate expansion, reducing frustrating modifiers and streamlining matchmaking. By removing unpopular elements such as Match Game and Volatile Shields, the update seeks to create a smoother and more balanced experience for players.
Alongside these gameplay adjustments, Bungie has implemented several quality-of-life improvements. Players who purchased armor ornaments during the early days of the Ash & Iron event received partial Bright Dust refunds, while class abilities and exotic interactions saw targeted fixes and buffs. The update also coincides with the return of the Festival of the Lost, now featuring Haunted Altars as a new six-player activity and a refreshed selection of weapons and cosmetics.

Power and Progression

Stronghold received a correction that restores its intended interaction with Ergo Sum. The exotic now correctly provides infinite guard energy and maximum guard resistance when used with that weapon, ensuring consistent defensive performance.
Weapons
Weapon perk functionality has been refined. The Enhanced Controlled Burst perk now properly extends its duration beyond the base version, allowing weapons with this trait to maintain improved firing control as originally designed.

Titan – Prismatic

- Now refunds 80% ability energy in PvE and 40% in PvP when missing a target, aligning with its intended design.
Hunter – Solar
- On Your Mark Aspect
- The cooldown for generating stacks in PvE has been removed.
- Precision Hand Cannon hits now grant two stacks instead of one.
- At ten stacks, precision hits or final blows refresh the buff duration.
Warlock – Void
- Vortex Grenade
- Adjusted behavior so the grenade now pulls larger enemies inward instead of displacing them, restoring its crowd-control function.
Activities
Several backend and matchmaking adjustments improve stability across playlist activities. These updates aim to reduce disconnects and ensure smoother transitions between encounters.

The Heliostat Pinnacle Operation now correctly displays the presence of Barrier Champions at higher tiers. Fixes also ensure that breaking Vex crystals grants Wolfsbane intrinsics to all fireteam members. Additionally, Dungeon Lairs no longer produce duplicate limited revive token skulls, and loot from the Contest of Elders now routes properly to player inventories.
The Desert Perpetual
The Network Technician Triumph now accurately tracks completion of the Atlas & Almanac quest. Adjustments to Agraios encounters prevent multiple bosses from simultaneously targeting the same fireteam during variable elimination phases.
General
Players who overpaid for Bright Dust armor ornaments during the first week of Ash & Iron will receive automatic refunds through Special Deliveries. Additional corrections include:
- The Ascendant III competitive emblem now appears correctly in Collections.
- The Featherfine shader has been visually differentiated from Iron Valus.
- The Rewards Pass ship name is now localized for all supported languages.
