If you opened Warzone after the Season 2 Reloaded update, you likely noticed that the standard battle royale playlists were gone. As of midnight ET on March 13, the update replaced the usual options with a single mode: Black Ops Royale, a Blackout-inspired experience set on the Avalon map.
That shift leaves you without access to regular Warzone modes for now. If you prefer the traditional loadout-driven format, you are likely waiting for confirmation on when those playlists will return.
When can you access standard Warzone playlists again in Season 2?
When you launch Warzone after the Season 2 Reloaded update, you will only see Black Ops Royale in the playlist menu. The mode runs exclusively on the Avalon map and currently supports Quads only, with no Solos option available.
You can restore additional playlists by completing one match of Black Ops Royale.
It does not matter how long you survive. You can deploy, get eliminated quickly, and return to the lobby. After that first match ends, the main menu refreshes and unlocks more options.
At this stage, the playlists that reappear are limited:
- Resurgence
- Resurgence Casual
The traditional Battle Royale (BR) modes are still missing. Standard BR squads, duos, trios, and solos do not appear in the rotation right now.

Developers have indicated long-term plans to position Avalon as the primary large-scale BR map. That goal may affect when regular BR playlists return.
You should expect BR to come back in a future playlist update, but no confirmed date has been announced. Updates often roll out within days or weeks of major seasonal changes, so availability may shift quickly.
For now, you can rotate between Black Ops Royale and the two Resurgence variants while waiting for full BR support to return.
