Which esports stars will we see at IEM Katowice 2021?

The Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2021, one of the biggest esports events of the year, kicked off today with the launch of the Counter Strike: Global Offensive tournament. The biggest CS:GO stars from around the world will be taking part in the event. Here is a look at the best of the best!

The tournament itself is divided into two phases. The first is the IEM Katowice 2021 Play-In and here is the list of participating teams:

Of these sixteen teams, up to half, or eight will advance to the main phase of the competition, where the best formations from around the world are already waiting, and these are:

  • Natus Vincere
  • Astralis
  • Vitality
  • Heroic
  • Evil Geniuses
  • G2
  • FURIA
  • FaZe

The main stars of the tournament will undoubtedly be the players who were among the best in 2020. Oleksandr „s1mple“ Kostyliev of Natus Vincere comes to mind here. The Ukrainian has been impressing with his great skills for a very long time. Another player that everyone will be watching is Mathieu „ZywOo“ Herbaut, who has been voted the best CS:GO player in the world for the second year in a row. Also noteworthy is Nicolai „Device“ Reedtz, a sniper who, along with his Danish Astralis teammates, will likely be looking to win the entire tournament. Surely the game of these three will enjoy the greatest recognition.

Other stars worth mentioning are Russel „Twistzz“ Van Dulken, one of FaZe's new acquisitions, as well as Nikola „NiKo“ Kovač from G2 and Yuri „yuurih“ Santos, the Brazilian from FURIA. Who knows, maybe during the tournament a new world star will grow up in front of the spectators? It's worth following the competition!
