Verdansk returns to certain platforms after Warzone 2.0 release

Verdansk is returning to Call of Duty: Warzone. This is what Alex Summers, Manager of Live Operations at Activision, reveals in an interview during a LegionFarm livestream. According to Summers, this map will not be playable on all platforms.

In a little over a week, the third season of Warzone Pacific will kick off on the map Caldera. Opinions on this island are divided, but one thing is certain: a large portion of fans long to return to Verdansk. Nevertheless, it seems that in the future not all Warzone players will be able to enjoy Verdansk.

How does Verdansk return to Warzone?

The return of Verdansk has been confirmed. But, in what form and on what platforms? That's not entirely clear. Activision's Manager Live Operations remains cryptic. Still, we and Call of Duty fans do have a strong suspicion. Should that suspicion be correct, one should not cheer too loudly upon hearing this news.

After all, Alex Summers indicates in the livestream that Verdansk will return „on certain platforms. Right after that moment, he tells us that Warzone 2.0 will have a new, large map. The return of Verdansk on console next to a new Warzone map therefore seems unlikely.

This suggests that Verdansk will return within Warzone Mobile. This game is currently being developed for smartphones and tablets and will be playable on Android and iOS.

Warzone 2.0 will be released following the latest iteration of the franchise. According to the latest rumors, this brand new battle royale game will only be available for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC: „a new game for the best hardware.
