Valorant Patch Notes
VALORANT’s 11.06 update introduces several notable changes aimed at improving gameplay and player experience. A major focus of this patch is the handling of disruptive behavior, supported by a large-scale banwave that targets automated accounts and unfair play.
Alongside these measures, the long-awaited replay system makes its debut, giving players new tools to review matches and refine strategies. The update also includes a set of bug fixes across different areas, ensuring smoother performance and more consistent gameplay.
Banwave and AFK Penalty
Riot recently carried out a large-scale ban action that removed 40,000 automated accounts within six months. This move targeted botting activity and highlighted the studio’s broader focus on improving player conduct systems. Alongside these bans, new adjustments were introduced to address AFK behavior and queue dodging, both of which negatively affect match quality.
The updated penalty framework has already shown measurable results. Competitive matches recorded a 20% drop in AFK incidents, while Swiftplay saw a 6% reduction. These numbers suggest that stricter punishments are discouraging disruptive actions, but the system still required refinement to catch subtle patterns of misconduct.
Some players managed to bypass detection due to the way penalties were calculated. Two main groups stood out:
- Frequent minor offenders: players who only left for short stretches, such as 1–3 rounds, but did so consistently.
- High-volume players with recurring issues: individuals who completed a large number of matches but still AFK’d in a significant portion of them.
Although less than 1% of the player base fell into these categories, they were responsible for 13% of all AFK cases across Competitive, Swiftplay, and Unrated. The disproportionate impact of this small group led to tougher enforcement measures. Riot confirmed that it will continue refining its systems to better identify and penalize these behaviors, aiming to maintain fairer matches for the wider community.
A queue dodge warning system has also been emphasized, reminding players that consistent dodging is treated as disruptive and subject to escalating penalties. This ensures that players who attempt to avoid unfavorable lobbies or exploit the remake system face consequences.
Corrected Issues
Patch 11.06 contained a small set of technical fixes. A rare error involving Yoru and Reyna allowed them to incorrectly return to their starting position after using invisibility abilities. This unintended interaction has been resolved, ensuring both agents now function as intended during stealth plays.
| Agent | Issue | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Yoru | Returned to spawn after invisibility ended | Fixed |
| Reyna | Returned to spawn after invisibility ended | Fixed |

Updates for PC
The long-requested Replay Tool is now active on PC, allowing players to review past matches across Competitive, Unrated, Swiftplay, and Premier. While custom games are excluded, the feature includes free camera movement, playback speed adjustments, and player POV switching for detailed analysis.
Additionally, the RawInputBuffer option has been removed from the settings menu. This input method is now permanently active, ensuring consistent performance without requiring manual configuration.

Updates for Console
A known issue with item highlighting remains unresolved in this patch. Dropped weapons and the Spike highlight incorrectly when players are nearby, even without direct line of sight. Riot confirmed this adjustment will roll out in the following update (11.07).
Meanwhile, a bug affecting the New Player Tips display has already been corrected, improving onboarding for console users.
