Ubisoft announces Rainbow Six Mobile

Game developer Ubisoft today announced that the Rainbow Six franchise will be getting a new addition called: Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Mobile. The new mobile game will soon be playable on iOS and Android devices through the App Store and Google Play Store.

Rainbow Six Mobile

„Led by a new and dedicated team at Ubisoft Montreal, Rainbow Six Mobile offers a true Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege experience, where tactical gameplay meets fast-paced action. Players compete in 5-on-5 battles in the main game mode: attack vs. defense.“

„Attackers deploy observation drones to gather information and strategically break through walls, floors and ceilings, while defenders barricade all access points and use spy cameras or traps to secure their location. Combining strategy and teamwork, players experience the thrill of intense combat as they alternate between attacking and defending to defeat the other team.“ Says Ubisoft via a press release.

Rainbow Six Mobile Players can build a team with familiar Operators from the Rainbow Six universe, each equipped with their own unique skills, weapons and gadgets. The game also reintroduces iconic maps from Rainbow Six Siege, including Bank and Border, and includes PvP game modes such as Secure Area and Bomb.

Ubisoft now has a mobile game as well

After Apex Mobile, Call of Duty Mobile and Fortnite Mobile, Ubisoft has now also announced that it will release a mobile version of the popular Rainbow Six Franchise.

As with many other mobile games Ubisoft had to make some adjustments to make the game suitable for mobile devices. Phones are significantly different from PCs and consoles, for example in terms of screen size for a detailed HUD and in terms of controls – bluetooth controllers aside.

Ubisoft has, to address these issues, for example, added an option where you shoot automatically when you have an enemy in your sights. Also, of course, the mobile version has been scaled down slightly on the graphics front. Fortunately, partly due to the small screens, this is often not too bad in practice.
