Spirit beats FURIA for second spot in CSGO Major semifinals

Spirit is the second semi-finalist of the PGL CS:GO Major Antwerp 2022 after their win against FURIA. Spirit will take on FaZe on Saturday for a spot in the final.

Vertigo was the first map of the second quarterfinal. FURIA had chosen this map. The first half went fairly evenly with each team gaining several rounds in a row until FURIA narrowly won the half by an 8-7 score. Spirit lost the pistol round, but the young Russians proved to be the better CT team. FURIA had no answer to the excellent strategy of Spirit's in-game leader chopper, who used FURIA's chaos against them. In the end, it was 16-12 for Spirit.

Devastating

The start of the second and final map of the series did not go entirely according to plan for FURIA. The team, led by arT, was soon 1-5 behind but through renewed fighting spirit managed to limit the damage to a respectable 7-8 score. However, the dam was broken and Spirit made mincemeat of the Brazilians. It was quite clear how the second half would go and FURIA only managed to put a measly round on the scoreboard. In the end, it was 16-8 for the Russians, which means they will face FaZe on Saturday.

Spirit continues to surprise in the major and the first semifinal is going to be very exciting. FURIA can unfortunately take the plane to Brazil, because for them the Belgian adventure ends.
