Rainbow Six Siege Invitational 2022 moved to Sweden

The biggest Rainbow Six Siege tournament of the year is changing locations due to corona measures. The event originally scheduled to be held in Montreal will be moved to Stockholm.

The Six Invitational 2022 will still be held from February 8 to 20. The tournament thus retains its original date, nevertheless there will be no public attendance at the event…. The game's biggest event has a prize pool of as much as three million dollars. The team of Ninjas in Pyjamas managed to win the event last year, taking home one million dollars.

Corona measures

In Canada, the Omicron variant of the corona virus is spreading extremely quickly, which has led the Canadian government to tighten up its corona measures. The new measures prevent the organization of indoor events. Everyone who attends needs proof of vaccination and there is a maximum capacity. This made it necessary for Ubisoft to move the Six Siege event.

Although no audience is allowed in Stockholm either, so for the second year in a row there will be no audience at the event, the game developer wants to help fans. Ubisoft has indicated that they are thinking of partnering with other parties to organize local watch parties for the fans.

Co-streams

In addition, Ubisoft let it be known that it is permitted to co-stream the 2022 Six Invitational. Certain streamers and content creators in the community will be given the right to watch the event live on their stream. By doing so, the organization hopes to create more hype around the tournament and increase the total number of viewers.

The 2022 Six Invitational is the conclusion of the 2021 season, in which the twenty best teams participate. After this the teams will prepare for next year's season.
