How to Change Valorant Name
Changing your Valorant nickname is a straightforward process that can breathe fresh life into your gaming experience. Whether your initial name choice no longer resonates with you or was an error, there is a way to update it without any cost, though certain restrictions apply.
The nickname in Valorant corresponds to your Riot ID, which is a universal identifier across all Riot Games such as League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics. Altering your Riot ID will modify your in-game name for all these titles, so it’s essential to carefully consider your new moniker before making any changes.
How To Change Your Valorant Name
To change your Valorant name, remember that you can only update your Riot ID once every 90 days. Initially, players could change their names every 30 days, but Riot Games extended this period in November 2023.
Follow these steps to update your Riot ID:
- Open your browser and go to the official Riot Games website.
- Log in using your current credentials for the account.
- Navigate to the Riot ID tab.
- Enter your new Riot ID and tagline. You can use letters, numbers, spaces, and certain special characters.
- Save your changes.
