Halo infinite battle royale mode to be released this year

Jez Corden, a Halo Infinite insider, claims that development of the highly anticipated Halo Infinite Battle Royale is nearing completion and will likely be released in 2022.

Halo Fans have been hoping for a Battle Royale mode within the Halo franchise for years, and it seems that this wish may be coming true sooner than expected.

343 Industries recently extended its partnership with development studio Certain Affinity. This, according to Jez Cordan, a journalist with the news website Windows Central, is the final step needed to create a dream scenario and improve Halo Infinite.

On April 12, Certain Affinity, announced that they will be working with 343 to develop and improve Halo Infinite in „a number of new and exciting ways.“

While the announcement did not specify the exact role Certain Affinity will have in Halo Infinite, the developer has long been a helping hand on the multiplayer side of the Halo franchise. As a result, it didn't take long for the speculation, about what exactly the new developments would entail, to begin.

Collaboration includes new game mode

Jez Corden confirmed on the Xbox Two podcast that this collaboration will include a new mode with a shrinking zone and that the size of the mode would be impressive: „This is a Call of Duty Warzone-sized undertaking.“

This mode is going to deviate from the traditional gameplay everyone is used to from Halo and focus more on the Fortnite and Apex Legends audience, Corden said.

Of course, no release date has been announced yet, but Corden did state that the start of Halo Infinite Season 3 might be a potential start date, however, he warned that it could also be delayed until late 2022.
