Fortnite is adjusting its in-game economy, and you will soon receive fewer V-Bucks through the monthly Crew Pack. V-Bucks let you buy cosmetic items, access different passes, and spend on player-created islands, giving you ways to customize your experience in the free-to-play game.
Epic Games has kept V-Bucks pack prices the same, but it plans to reduce the amount of currency included. Many players have purchased V-Bucks over the years, and past pricing changes have sparked debate. This latest move lowers the value you receive without officially raising prices.
Fortnite Crew Subscribers to Get 200 Fewer V-Bucks Per Month Starting June 2026
Beginning June 6, 2026, your Fortnite Crew membership will grant 800 V-Bucks per month instead of 1,000. Epic Games notified subscribers ahead of time, giving you a window to decide whether to renew before the adjustment takes effect.
The monthly price of the subscription remains $11.99, and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members can still access it as part of their benefits. What changes is the currency payout tied to each renewal.
What Changes in June 2026
| Feature | Before June 6, 2026 | Starting June 6, 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly V-Bucks | 1,000 | 800 |
| Monthly Cost | $11.99 | $11.99 |
| Annual V-Bucks Total | 12,000 | 9,600 |
If you stay subscribed for a full year, you will receive 2,400 fewer V-Bucks than you would have under the previous structure.
At current pricing, 200 V-Bucks costs about $4. Over 12 months, that 2,400 V-Bucks difference aligns with the value of a $22.99 bundle.
Why the Reduction Matters
You might assume the lower payout balances out because the Battle Pass price dropped in Chapter 7 Season 2. In addition, the old 1,000 V-Bucks bundle now effectively matches 800 V-Bucks in value under updated pricing.
However, cosmetic prices in the Item Shop have not decreased. Skins, emotes, and other featured items still cost the same number of V-Bucks as before.
That means your purchasing power declines even if certain system-wide pricing adjustments appear to offset the reduction on paper.
What You Still Receive With Crew
Your Fortnite Crew subscription continues to include:
- A monthly cosmetic bundle
- Access to active Fortnite passes while your membership remains active
- A V-Bucks grant each time your subscription renews
If you regularly unlock Battle Pass rewards and buy Item Shop cosmetics, you may still find consistent value in the bundle structure.
Fortnite itself remains a large, multi-mode platform. You can compete in Battle Royale, Zero Build, Reload, and Fortnite OG. You can also explore LEGO Fortnite experiences, race in Rocket Racing, or play user-created islands through Creative and UEFN tools.
The game supports:
- Online multiplayer and co-op
- Cross-platform play on most systems
- Cross-progression through your Epic account
- 1–4 players in supported modes
It runs on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, PC, Android, and iOS. Epic Games develops and publishes the title, which first launched on September 26, 2017.
The Ongoing Value Debate
Players have debated the value of Fortnite Crew for years. The subscription model works best if you consistently engage with seasonal content and cosmetic releases.
With the upcoming adjustment, you now need to consider:
- How often you purchase Item Shop cosmetics
- Whether you complete Battle Passes each season
- Whether the included cosmetic set aligns with your preferences
The 200 V-Bucks reduction may appear small in isolation. Over time, it becomes more noticeable.
If you renew every month, you effectively give up the equivalent of a mid-tier cosmetic bundle each year. For some players, that difference will not outweigh the bundled perks. For others, it may prompt a cancellation.
The June 2026 change does not remove core benefits. It does reduce the total currency you receive for the same subscription price, which directly affects how much you can buy inside the game.
