Fortnite adds new shotgun

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 introduces the Ranger Shotgun, a single-shot shotgun with a long range that can do a good amount of damage.

Epic Games introduced the Ranger Shotgun at the same time as the Fortnite v20.20 update. The new shotgun is a long-range rifle that does a lot of damage, but you can only fire one shot before having to reload the weapon.

Shotguns are usually not loved by every casual Fortnite player, although they fit quite well in the list of the best Fortnite weapons. You obviously need quite a few skills that to accurately hit shots and do maximum damage. Not every player has these skills, and so it can be very frustrating when an enemy does.

So when a new, more powerful shotgun is released, the question is how good it will be. It is always nice when new weapons are added to the game, but it remains to be seen whether the new shotgun will not be too overpowered.

Where can you find the Ranger Shotgun?

The Ranger Shotgun has been added to the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 loot pool. Fortunately, the new weapon is not hard to find.

According to Epic Games, the Ranger Shotgun can be found on the ground as well as in chests, Loot Drops and Loot Sharks. Also, some NPCs will be selling the Ranger Shotgun.

The shotgun comes in all five rarities. The Common (gray) deals 117 damage to players, while the Legendary (gold) deals 142 damage to players. With a multiplier applicable to headshots, this could be the one-hit-kill weapon players have been looking for.

However, you must be able to aim well for this weapon to be effective. With only a single bullet per reload, and a reload speed of 1.5 seconds, you can't afford to miss even one bullet.
