CS2 Map Pool Change for Premier Season 4

You will see a direct map rotation when Premier Season 4 begins on January 19. Valve removes Train from Active Duty and restores Anubis, placing it back into competitive play on the same day Season Three ends.

Season timing and requirements remain fixed. To earn the Season Three Premier medal, you need 25 Premier wins and a visible Counter-Strike Rating at the moment the season closes.

Active Duty change for Season 4

Status Map
Removed Train
Added Anubis

You experienced Anubis leaving the pool last July to make room for Overpass, a move that drew mixed reactions. Balance concerns followed, with many matches favoring the attacking side. Valve has hinted at possible adjustments for Anubis’s return, though it has not confirmed specifics.

Train exits after roughly a year in Active Duty. During that period, you likely noticed limited adoption in casual queues and a low pick rate across everyday play. The rotation aligns with Valve’s pattern of refreshing the competitive lineup at the start of each Premier season.

You should expect the update to deploy alongside the Season 4 launch, affecting matchmaking, veto strategies, and map preparation immediately.
