COD streamer exposes himself as a cheater

One of the best Call of Duty: Vanguard streamers in the world may have cheated his way to the top. In a livestream, „pplehx“ suddenly flashes wallhacks.

Naturally, the player finds himself in need of explanation after the incident, but the excuse turns out to be very bizarre, as is often the case. According to a twitlonger, which he also concludes with an apology, he used the wallhacks solely to get the coveted weapon camouflages in multiplayer mode faster. „pplehx“ (real name unknown) explains that his achievements are honest, that he has „worked his ass off“ and that he fears that no one will believe him. He is probably right about that. „I'm sorry for what I did, I'll never cheat at anything again,“ he further promises.

Cheat clearly visible

In a livestream, the player had accidentally outed himself as a cheater when his computer briefly let red screen elements show through on his gameplay, probably due to a render delay. These were the well-known wallhack boxes that reveal enemy positions through walls.

During the transmission, pplehx reacted relatively quickly. When he understood what had just happened, he wondered aloud why his game „always crashes and stuff“ and then acted as if nothing had happened. But those few moments were enough to brand him. A bit later, further in an attempt to explain his intention, he posted a supposed invoice confirming the purchase of the wallhack.

Where does that leave Ricochet?

The explosive detail of the situation is that until the incident, pplehx was ranked 2nd in the Call of Duty: Vanguard leaderboard, i.e. in the mode that, was created for ambitious eSportsmen and competitive players. Not only the streamer himself suffers from the mistake, but also the question of how effective Activision's anti-cheat program is.
