Apex Legends players not to talk about next-gen upgrade
The next-gen upgrade of Apex Legends has finally been released, giving players on PS5 or Xbox Series X/S a version of the game that takes advantage of the improved hardware. Unfortunately, many players in the Apex community are disappointed with the upgrade.
During the Apex Legends Warriors Collection Event, players got a lot of new content like the Bangalore Chronicles quest, a new Event Tracker with free rewards and even a next-gen upgrade for those who managed to get a PS5 or Xbox Series X/S.
While many players were looking forward to this, the next-gen version of Apex Legends surprisingly didn't impress players in the community much.
Unnecessary Update
The next-gen update brought many new additions. For example, the option to game in 4k was added, as well as HDR. While these obviously seem like positive upgrades, some Apex Legends players are still complaining.
Players feel that the Update is unnecessary because, according to them, the game has started to look worse. „All in all, a pointless update, which makes my game look worse. Everything is white and all blurry, so I have to lower the brightness to compensate for the new image. Now colors look worse and everything is dark, while 4K literally adds nothing to the visuals.“ says one Reddit user.
No 120fps
Furthermore, one of the most anticipated additions for the next-gen versions of Apex Legends is 120 Hz or 120 frames per second (FPS). Players were hugely disappointed when they found out that this would not be available in the March 29 updates.
„I'm glad they gave it a try. But until the next-gen version gets 120Hz support, there's not really anything noticeable. Once we get 120Hz support, we're only going to notice it.“
Developers have insisted that the feature will appear in a future update for the next-gen version of Apex Legends. It is not yet clear when this update will be released.
