Airwaks leaves Fortnite and returns to League of Legends

Due to numerous bugs and a competitive sphere without much evolution, Karim „Airwaks“ Benghalia has decided to leave Fortnite for a return to League of Legends.

The professional League of Legends scene has to be careful, Karim „Airwaks“ Benghalia intends to return to the Summoner's Rift in the year 2022. He who was formerly pro on League of Legends, leaves Fortnite, a game in which he plays at the professional level for several years.

It is on Twitter this Wednesday that Airwaks said goodbye to Fortnite with a video recalling his best moments in the game of Epic Games. Among these, we find his victory in the ProAM 2019 for example and full of clips of all kinds. If the young Swiss decided to return to League of Legends, it is mainly because of the worries that Fortnite knows lately. He misses the golden age of Fortnite where physical events and tournaments were commonplace. Now, because of the Covid crisis, the game no longer has LAN events.

The many bugs that the game has also particularly annoyed Airwaks, including the car bug, shown at the end of his video, which can simply kill the player when he least expects it, for no apparent reason. He had actually been a victim of this during a major competition and it is these kinds of problems, which create randomness, that the player considers non-competitive, not to mention the recurring cheating cases at the highest level of the game.

Airwaks, who was an LCS EU player from 2014 to 2016 is therefore returning to League of Legends. However, he does not rule out the possibility of a return to Fortnite if live events or even a new World Cup are born in the near future.
