Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 Battle Pass Returning

You are about to see a major shift in how Fortnite handles Battle Pass rewards. Epic Games has confirmed that cosmetics from Chapter 5 Season 4, the Marvel-themed “Absolute Doom” season, will return through the Item Shop under a new “Unvaulted” label.

Starting June 28, you can purchase these items even if you never owned that Battle Pass. This move opens access to previously limited cosmetics and changes how exclusivity works in Fortnite going forward.

Why Is the ‘Absolute Doom’ Battle Pass Coming Back?

Epic Games is reintroducing select Chapter 5 Season 4 cosmetics through a new program called Unvaulted. Starting June 28, you can purchase certain Marvel-themed Outfits from the Absolute Doom Battle Pass directly in the Item Shop as separate bundles.

The developer confirmed this move on June 24 through its official channels and previewed several returning skins in a trailer. These items originally appeared as Battle Pass exclusives and were unavailable once the season ended.

This return follows an earlier policy shift. Epic previously stated that Battle Pass rewards from Chapter 5 Season 4 onward could reappear in the shop at a later date. That plan now takes effect.

Key points you should know:

  • Program name: Unvaulted
  • Launch date: June 28, 2026
  • First wave: Marvel cosmetics from Absolute Doom
  • Format: Individual shop bundles

By starting with Absolute Doom, Epic sets the precedent for how future Battle Pass content may cycle back. You can now access select past rewards without having completed that season’s pass.

What’s in the Chapter 5 Season 4 Battle Pass?

You unlock a Marvel-focused lineup that blends established comic characters with Fortnite originals inspired by Marvel themes. The season centers on superhero and villain designs, giving your locker a strong comic-book identity.

Confirmed outfits include:

  • Gwenpool
  • War Machine
  • Captain Jones
  • Mysterio
  • Peelverine (a Wolverine-inspired Peely variant)

Other featured characters tied to the pass include Doom, Shuri, Emma Frost, and Wastelander Magneto, expanding the roster with both heroes and antagonists.

Each outfit arrives with matching cosmetics such as back blings, pickaxes, emotes, and themed wraps that reflect the character’s style. You progress through the pass tiers to claim these rewards, with additional bonus items available as you advance.

The season’s cosmetics are also slated to appear in the Item Shop at a later date, broadening access beyond the original Battle Pass window.

How This Shift May Shape What Comes Next

You can expect Battle Pass cosmetics from Chapter 5 Season 4 onward to cycle back into the Item Shop. That change sets a clear precedent. Epic has moved away from strict exclusivity for newer seasons.

Older items from Chapters 1 and 2 will likely remain locked away. If you missed those, you may not see another opportunity. However, recent passes no longer carry the same permanent cutoff.

This approach could influence how you decide to spend V-Bucks:

  • Buy the pass early for immediate access and bonus rewards.
  • Wait for shop rotations if you only want specific skins.
  • Prioritize value instead of rarity.

Epic has not outlined a full return schedule for future seasons. Still, the pattern suggests that later Chapter 5 and Chapter 6 rewards may follow the same path.

You may see less pressure to grind every season. At the same time, Epic can generate revenue from both Battle Pass sales and later Item Shop releases, keeping multiple purchasing options open.

Have your say!
