Epic Games is offering the Dark Voyager Sidekick to Fortnite players at no cost, but you can only claim it for a limited time. You must take part in the upcoming Shattered live event to secure the reward before it disappears.
The Shattered event will close out Chapter 7 Season 2, with servers going offline shortly after as the next season rolls out. You need to know how the event works and what steps to follow to make sure you unlock the Dark Voyager Sidekick while it remains available.
Unlock the Dark Voyager Sidekick at No Cost
You can earn the Dark Voyager Sidekick by attending the Shattered live event with at least one friend in your party. If you enter alone, you will not receive the Sidekick.
The event takes place on June 5, 2026, at 7 PM ET. Epic will open the event playlist at 6:20 PM ET, so queue early to secure your spot.
Follow these steps:
- Launch Fortnite before the playlist goes live.
- Invite one or more friends to your party.
- Select the Shattered live event playlist.
- Ready up together and attend the event.
If you join solo, the game will grant you the Dark Voyager Pickaxe instead of the Sidekick.
You will not see the reward immediately in some cases. After the event ends, servers are expected to go offline briefly.
Once the next season begins, check your Locker to claim your item. The game will automatically add the correct reward based on how you attended the event.
