You can now download the Overwatch Season 2 mid-season update before it officially goes live. Blizzard has enabled a pre-load through the Battle.net launcher, giving you early access to the patch files.

Overwatch Season 2 Mid-Season Patch Download
You can install the upcoming update early through the Battle.net launcher before it officially goes live. Start by signing in to your account and selecting Overwatch from your game library.
Next, choose the gear icon beside the Play button and select Check for Updates. If the pre-load is available, the launcher will begin downloading the pre-release files automatically.
Follow these steps:
- Log in to Battle.net
- Select Overwatch
- Open Settings (gear icon)
- Click Check for Updates
When the process finishes, the launcher will confirm that the pre-release content has downloaded successfully.
Enable Automatic Updates for the Overwatch Season 2 Mid-Season Patch
You can configure Battle.net to handle future Overwatch updates automatically, including mid-season patches and pre-release files.
Open the Battle.net launcher and click the Battle.net logo in the top-left corner. Select Settings, then choose Downloads from the side menu.
Scroll to the Game Updates area. Under Automatic Updates, pick the option that installs the latest updates and downloads pre-release content for games you’ve played recently. This setting ensures Overwatch updates as soon as files become available.
Review your selection and click Done to confirm.
