AWP Fade Patterns Percentage and Seeds Guide

You recognize Fade skins by their blend of pink, purple, and yellow tones, and they remain some of the most sought-after finishes in CS2. While this gradient design appears most often on knives, the AWP stands out as one of the few rifles to feature the Fade pattern.

When you look at different AWP Fade patterns, you will notice clear differences in color balance and overall appeal. This guide helps you compare those variations and understand how they rank, so you can decide which patterns best match your preferences.

AWP Fade Patterns Explained

You should evaluate every AWP Fade by looking at three core elements: color distribution, pattern index, and float value. Each one directly affects appearance and market price.

  • Color Distribution: Fade percentage reflects how much white appears on the rifle compared to pink, purple, and yellow. Higher percentages reduce visible white and increase the stronger fade tones. Lower percentages introduce more pale sections, which many buyers value less.
  • Pattern Index: The pattern number assigns the exact gradient layout when you unbox the skin. It permanently determines how colors flow across the body and stock. You cannot modify or reroll this value after creation.
  • Float Value: Wear rating controls surface condition. The AWP Fade only exists in Factory New and Minimal Wear. Factory New versions usually command higher prices due to cleaner finishes and stronger visual presentation.

AWP Fade Patterns (Percentages)

The AWP Fade uses a gradient built from yellow, pink, and purple, without any white tones.

Your pattern seed controls how these three colors appear across the rifle and determines the official fade percentage. Higher percentages show more yellow and pink, while lower percentages introduce more purple dominance.

Full 100% Fade Variants

A true 100% Fade gives you the most balanced color layout.

You typically see around 30% yellow, 60% pink, and 10% purple, with purple pushed toward the rear edge of the weapon. This distribution creates the cleanest transition and the most sought-after look.

Recognized 100% pattern seeds include:

16, 129, 146, 152, 241, 281, 292, 332, 344, 359, 393, 412, 541, 602, 628, 649, 673, 688, 701, 743, 777, 792, 918, 994

Collectors favor these seeds because they display the strongest yellow-to-pink blend with minimal purple intrusion. When you inspect one in-game, the rifle shows a bright front section that smoothly transitions into pink before a small purple corner appears at the back.

99% and 98% Fade Options

You can barely distinguish most 99% and 98% patterns from true 100% versions during normal gameplay.

These are often called “near full” or “fake full” fades because they replicate the visual balance extremely closely while technically falling short of 100%.

99% pattern seeds include:

48, 126, 182, 204, 230, 252, 444, 452, 457, 471, 522, 578, 607, 631, 652, 660, 685, 705, 736, 773, 780, 787, 832, 874, 908, 923, 982, 988

98% pattern seeds include:

5, 8, 14, 32, 58, 68, 108, 112, 149, 171, 178, 188, 202, 213, 233, 243, 274, 287, 337, 340, 356, 378, 405, 406, 454, 461, 493, 539, 614, 621, 637, 653, 655, 683, 696, 702, 728, 732, 761, 770, 795, 803, 817, 826, 854, 867, 873, 876, 922, 949, 959, 966, 971, 997, 1000

You often pay less for these compared to confirmed 100% seeds.

If you care mainly about appearance and not classification, these percentages can offer stronger value relative to cost.

97%–90% Fade Range

Once you move below 98%, the purple section becomes more visible.

From 97% down to 90%, purple expands across the rear half of the weapon, while yellow coverage at the front shrinks.

In this range:

  • Yellow appears mostly near the barrel.
  • Pink still dominates the center.
  • Purple occupies a larger portion of the stock area.

As you approach 90%, the gradient shifts noticeably toward purple. The transition looks less balanced compared to higher percentages, and the yellow segment becomes thinner.

This bracket still maintains a recognizable Fade identity, but you see clear visual differences compared to 99–100% patterns. Prices typically decrease gradually as the percentage drops within this group.

89%–80% Fade Range

Between 89% and 80%, the color split changes more dramatically.

You no longer see meaningful yellow coverage. Instead, the rifle shows a near 50/50 balance between pink and purple, with purple becoming dominant for the first time.

At this level:

  • Yellow effectively disappears.
  • Pink and purple divide the body.
  • Purple becomes visually stronger than any other tone.

These patterns attract less demand compared to high-percentage fades. As a result, you usually find them at the lower end of the AWP Fade pricing spectrum.

How Seed Values Influence Market Price

Your seed determines the fade percentage, and the percentage drives value.

Higher fade percentages consistently command higher prices because they display more yellow and maintain a cleaner gradient.

Several pricing factors interact:

  • Fade percentage (primary driver)
  • Float value (wear condition)
  • Market demand
  • Rarity perception of specific seeds

Collectors often pay a premium for confirmed 100% seeds, even when 99% versions look almost identical. The classification itself carries value because buyers treat it as the highest tier within the skin.

Lower percentages reduce demand since the purple-heavy layout deviates from the classic Fade appearance. When you evaluate pricing, always separate visual preference from collector-driven premiums.

Ways to Obtain an AWP Fade in CS2

You cannot open the AWP Fade from an active case.

Valve originally released it in 2020 as part of the Control Collection, and it was available only during that limited event period.

Today, you must acquire it through:

  • The Steam Community Market
  • A trusted third-party marketplace
  • Direct trades with other players

Supply remains fixed because the collection no longer drops. This limited availability supports its long-term pricing structure.

Checking the Pattern Before You Purchase

You should always verify the exact seed and fade percentage before committing to a purchase.

The difference between 100% and 80% significantly changes how the rifle looks in your hands.

Most marketplaces display:

  • Pattern seed number
  • Fade percentage
  • Float value
  • Wear condition

You can also inspect the skin in-game by joining an inspect server. This lets you rotate the weapon, check the purple coverage on the stock, and confirm that the yellow and pink distribution matches the listed percentage.

Taking these steps reduces the risk of overpaying and ensures you receive the specific fade tier you intend to buy.
