As you explore Pragmata, you will encounter red and blue crystal formations that block key routes and hide useful items. You cannot break through them with basic movement or early abilities, even if you reach them near the start of the game.
You must progress the story to unlock the tools required to remove these barriers. Understanding when and how you gain that ability will help you plan your backtracking and access previously sealed paths.
Clearing the Red and Blue Crystal Barriers in Pragmata
You cannot remove the red and blue crystal formations when you first encounter them. The game unlocks that ability several hours into the story.
Progress through the second major chapter, where you explore a reconstructed version of New York City. Continue until you activate the Office Space Station fast travel point. After this checkpoint, move forward to a room sealed off by a large wall of mixed red and blue crystal growths.
At this point, Diana gains access to a tool called the Lim Eraser. This upgrade allows her to interface directly with the crystalline structures and dissolve them.
To remove a barrier:
- Stand directly in front of the crystal mass
- Hold F on keyboard or the designated interact button on controller
- Wait a few seconds for the process to complete
Once the interaction finishes, the obstruction disappears and the path opens.
You will usually find these crystal clusters blocking optional routes rather than mandatory objectives. In most cases, they guard hidden rooms, rare materials, or upgrade-related rewards.
Common rewards behind crystal barriers include:
- Upgrade components
- Lunum currency
- Equipment mods
- Other collectible resources
Because of this, revisit earlier sectors after unlocking the Lim Eraser. Areas in New York City contain multiple blocked passages that you could not access before gaining this ability.
Fast travel makes backtracking efficient. Scan familiar streets and interiors for previously unreachable crystal walls, then clear them to collect missed items and strengthen your loadout.
