Overwatch Season 1 is live, and you can jump in to explore a refreshed lineup that includes Jetpack Cat, Anran, Domina, Mizuki, and Emre. The season also reshapes how you play each match by introducing subroles, changing how heroes function and how you approach team composition.
You can test these updates during the limited-time Overwatch Conquest event, which ties gameplay challenges to a large set of rewards. By completing objectives, you earn up to 94 loot boxes, new voice lines, and legendary skins while experiencing the season’s core changes firsthand.
Overwatch Conquest event
You take part in a five-week faction conflict that runs from February 10 to March 16. Each week, you align with either Overwatch or Talon and work through a dedicated reward track tied to your chosen side.
After you finish a faction’s weekly pass, you unlock the option to switch allegiances and complete the opposing track. If you prefer consistency, you can remain loyal and push through a prestige version of the same path instead.
Progress comes primarily from playing matches. Most objectives advance naturally through regular gameplay, although certain tasks encourage hero picks or playstyle choices. For example, selecting specific heroes tied to your faction can accelerate progress during that week. Optional objectives may appear, but you can complete the pass without treating every challenge as mandatory.
You can also stack event progress. Time spent completing faction objectives contributes toward other active event challenges when applicable, allowing you to work on multiple reward tracks at once.
At the end of each week, the game tallies every completed faction pass worldwide. The side with more completions earns a weekly victory, which unlocks a special phase reward for participants. Your finished pass directly adds to your faction’s global total.
When the five-week event concludes, Blizzard declares one faction the overall winner. Participants can earn a Legendary Echo skin themed around either Overwatch or Talon, depending on the final outcome, along with an additional in-game bonus tied to the event’s results.
Your participation, pass completion, and faction loyalty all influence the global standings.
Overwatch Conquest event rewards
You unlock a large set of items as you progress through the five-week faction event. The reward track includes 75 standard loot boxes, 12 Epic loot boxes, and 7 Legendary loot boxes, giving you multiple chances at higher-tier cosmetics.
Beyond loot boxes, you can add 9 new voice lines to your collection. You also earn 31 customization items, including player icons, titles, sprays, and name cards that expand your profile options.
The event features 2 weapon charms and lets you obtain one of two faction-themed Legendary Echo skins, depending on the outcome. You can also secure exclusive Legendary titles, along with a hidden title that unlocks through special participation requirements.
Overwatch Year of the Horse event
You can jump into the Year of the Horse celebration from February 13 through March 2. Blizzard rolls it out just days after Season 1 begins, keeping the momentum high with limited-time activities and themed rewards.
The event brings back Roadhog’s Catch-a-mari, a fan-favorite arcade mode. This time, the mode includes a new twist, though Blizzard has not yet shared the exact changes. You can expect updated rules or mechanics that refresh the experience while keeping the core concept intact.
Alongside the mode, you can earn Lunar New Year cosmetics and event rewards.
