Introduction of A-Rank Agents
One of the significant changes coming with version 1.2 is the availability of a lineup of A-Rank agents such as Lucy and Soukaku. These agents are designed to be more accessible with higher drop rates compared to their S-Rank counterparts. Lucy, featuring the Fire attribute, functions both as support and an off-field DPS, offering useful buffs for allies. Soukaku, characterized by her Ice attribute, excels as a support character, attacking enemies with a special wind current.
The game's rarity system means S-Rank agents have a 0.6% drop rate, whereas A-Rank agents have a more generous 9.4% drop rate. This system allows players to strategize differently depending on which agents they wish to acquire and use.
New Characters and Their Roles
In addition to Lucy and Soukaku, new characters like Caesar King, Burnice White, Piper, and Billy will join the roster. Each character offers a different role and set of abilities:
- Caesar King: A major highlight for the first phase, known for his powerful abilities.
- Burnice White: Another standout for the second phase, bringing his own unique skill set to the game.
Billy is equipped with dual revolvers, excels in the DPS role by attacking from a distance, and recovers energy through hit-and-run tactics. Piper serves as a Physical agent, enhancing her team's damage output by 18% and using her powerful sweeping slash attack.

Caesar King | First Phase | Powerful special abilities |
Burnice White | Second Phase | Unique skillset to be revealed |
Release Schedule and Banners
The initial release of version 1.2 will roll out around September 26, launching the first phase. Mid-October will see the second phase commence, continuing the deployment of these agents. While the banner schedule currently sets Lucy, Soukaku, and Caesar King for the debut, it remains subject to shift.
Agent Abilities
Lucy, as a Fire attribute agent, is invaluable for support and off-field DPS roles through buffs. Soukaku’s Ice attribute makes her effective in support roles, leveraging wind currents for Ice damage. These tactical elements add layers of strategy for players aiming to optimize their team compositions.
Billy's role focuses on dealing damage from afar. By wielding twin revolvers, his ranged attacks also contribute to energy recovery. This capability makes him suitable for sustained combat scenarios. Piper’s Physical attribute enhances her offensive capabilities while boosting the overall team’s damage output, adding a crucial strategic advantage.
Game Mechanics and Locations
For players exploring New Eridu and beyond, understanding the mechanics of these agents and their abilities will be essential for survival and tactical advantage. The lore urges caution, especially when exploring dangerous areas like the Hollows. Preparation and finding strong allies are repeatedly emphasized as critical for navigating these treacherous locales.
The Hollows, rife with Ether and relics of an old civilization, present significant dangers such as spatial disorder and mutants. The narrative encourages players to avoid these areas unless adequately prepared and accompanied by reliable allies and a „Proxy“ to guide through the dangers. This setting underscores the risks and rewards integral to the Zenless Zone Zero experience.
