ZZZ Pity System Explained

In the world of Zenless Zone Zero, players are drawn into an intriguing urban fantasy setting filled with diverse and engaging characters. Each character comes with unique abilities and personalities, contributing to a rich and dynamic gameplay experience. The game's captivating storylines and thrilling combat require not only skill but also strategic planning, especially when it comes to acquiring characters through the gacha system.

Obtaining beloved characters in Zenless Zone Zero involves navigating a complex pity system, similar to those seen in other HoYoverse titles. This system determines the likelihood of obtaining desired Agents and requires careful consideration, particularly for players who prefer not to spend real money on in-game purchases. Understanding the mechanics of this system is crucial for players aiming to maximize their chances of expanding their roster and ensuring a satisfying gaming experience.

Explanation of Zenless Zone Zero’s Pity Structure

Probabilities in Zenless Zone Zero's Permanent Channel

The Permanent Channel in Zenless Zone Zero features a range of ongoing characters and items, known as Agents and W-Engines. Players can engage in signal searches using Master Tapes. The likelihood of obtaining rare items in this channel is structured around a pity system.

Rarity Tier Base Signal Probability Assured Probability
S-Tier 0.600% 1.600%
A-Tier 9.400% 14.600%
B-Tier 90% 84%

With a maximum of 90 attempts needed, players can secure a coveted S-Tier character or device, known as the hard pity barrier. Meanwhile, an A-Tier is promised every 10 pulls.

Though precise details on soft pity aren’t officially provided, players can anticipate a better chance of success somewhere between 70 to 80 pulls, drawing from the mechanics of similar games.

New entrants benefit from a one-fifth reduction in cost for their first five multi-pulls, allowing them to spend on only eight Master Tapes per 10-pull endeavor. Additionally, S-Tier characters show up within the first 50 searches.

Odds of Obtaining Top-Tier Agents in the Limited Channel

For those participating in the Limited Channel searches, the odds of acquiring an S-Tier agent start at 0.600%, mirroring the Permanent Channel. Players are ensured to pull an S-Rank Agent with 90 searches.

Upon securing an S-Rank in this Limited Channel, there is a coin-flip probability of landing a time-limited exclusive agent. If the pull is not exclusive, the subsequent guaranteed S-Tier agent will certainly be time-limited.

Unique to W-Engines in this channel, an S-Tier engine is assured after 80 pulls, with a 75% chance of it being a special limited version. If a non-limited engine is pulled, the next guaranteed pull will award the limited edition.

Superior Odds in the Special Selection Channel

The Special Selection Channel offers distinctive features, boasting the highest chance for an S-Tier item compared to other permanent offerings, with a 1% chance in just 80 pulls. Players can choose from eight elite S-Rank items, guaranteed within these 80 attempts. Players use the Bopoon currency, obtainable via various methods like Hollow Zero, Bangbuck Exchange, or the New Eridu City Fund.
