You can now step into World of Warcraft: Midnight, the next chapter in the Worldsoul Saga, as early access goes live. This phase lets you begin exploring the expansion’s new content ahead of its full global launch.
As you enter Midnight, you gain access to fresh zones, updated systems, and the opening stages of the expansion’s storyline. Early access gives you the opportunity to level, explore, and prepare your characters before the broader player base joins at release.
WoW Midnight Early Access Start Date
You can begin Midnight early access on February 26 at 3 p.m. PT. This unlocks the next chapter of the Worldsoul Saga ahead of the full global launch on March 2.
Blizzard opens the expansion with Xal’atath and her Devouring Host moving against Azeroth. Their campaign focuses on the Sunwell, placing the fate of the Light at risk.
Before launch, Blizzard released cinematic previews, including a spotlight on Arator and Xal’atath’s whispers, to establish the expansion’s tone and stakes.
What to expect in the WoW Midnight early access
You can begin with the expansion’s opening storyline and unlock the “Echoes of Midnight” achievement. Completing it grants cross-game rewards, including the Devourer Genji skin (Overwatch), the Crimson War Bear mount (Heroes of the Storm), Bawkhaus (Diablo IV), and the Harbinger of Darkness pet (Diablo Immortal).
Early access also lets you experience core Midnight systems and progression features:
- Level your character to 90
- Explore four updated and new zones
- Unlock and customize player housing
- Complete World Quests and advance Renown tracks
- Clear Delves (Tiers 1–7)
- Run Normal and Heroic dungeons
- Participate in the Prey hunting system
You can start building power, gathering materials, and preparing for endgame content before the full global launch.
WoW Midnight dungeons
As you progress through each zone’s main storyline, you unlock dungeon quests that connect directly to the expansion’s central plot. These quests let you enter certain instances earlier while leveling your first character.
If you skip those quests, you still gain full access at level 90. At that point, every Midnight dungeon opens regardless of prior quest completion.

During Early Access, you can run dungeons on Normal difficulty, with additional modes unlocking later in the season cycle.
