Overwatch Rush First Regional Test Sets Competitive Benchmark

You can now look at Overwatch Rush, Blizzard Entertainment’s mobile entry in the Overwatch universe, as it moves into its first regional test. This early phase gives you access to a playable build designed specifically for mobile devices rather than a direct port of the original game.

You get an initial view of the available heroes, cosmetic skins, and early gameplay footage that shows how the top-down 4v4 format plays in action. The test also signals Blizzard’s effort to gather player feedback and evaluate performance before expanding to additional regions.

Overwatch Rush playtest

You can join the first regional test of Overwatch Rush if you live in the Philippines. The current phase runs exclusively on Android, and you must download the build through the Google Play Store.

Blizzard uses this limited rollout to gather:

  • Player feedback
  • Gameplay data
  • Performance metrics

Your matches help the team refine balance, stability, and overall experience before expanding testing to other regions.

Overwatch Rush regions

You can currently access the regional test only if you are in the Philippines. Players in other countries cannot join this phase of testing.

Blizzard plans to expand access to additional territories. The team has publicly confirmed that it is preparing to roll out testing in more regions and will share updates as plans move forward.

If you live outside the Philippines, you need to wait for future announcements. To stay informed, you should monitor official community channels for news about:

  • Upcoming regional test waves
  • Eligibility details
  • Download availability in your area

Overwatch Rush gameplay

You watch two four-player squads clash on a mobile adaptation of the Busan control map. The camera shifts to a top-down view, giving you a clear look at positioning, ability use, and objective control.

Team One

  • Reinhardt
  • Tracer
  • Soldier: 76
  • Mercy

Team Two

  • Reinhardt
  • Reaper
  • Pharah
  • Lucio

You see mirrored Reinhardt picks anchor each side, while damage and support heroes pressure the point. One Reinhardt uses Magma Strike, a power previously seen in the Stadium mode, adding an aggressive area attack to his frontline role.

Overwatch Rush skins

You can unlock character outfits through progression and ranked play. A Blizzard screenshot shows Tracer’s loadout screen, confirming that skins tie directly to your selected hero and that some rewards unlock when you reach specific competitive tiers.

Reports also point to Legendary-tier skins for several heroes, including:

  • Kiriko
  • Mercy
  • Tracer
  • Pharah
  • Soldier: 76
  • Reinhardt

These cosmetics focus on visual changes, with certain high-rarity options featuring updated animations.

Complete Overwatch Rush character roster

You can choose from 12 playable heroes in the current test build:

  • Soldier: 76
  • Pharah

  • Tracer
  • Genji
  • Hanzo
  • Kiriko
  • Lúcio

  • Brigitte

You get a mix of tanks, damage dealers, and support picks, which lets you build balanced four-player team compositions around mobility, frontline pressure, or sustained healing.
