Warzone update changes Ghost Perk

A number of popular Perks in Call of Duty: Warzone have received a bunch of big changes in a new update for the Battle Royale, developer Raven Software announced yesterday. Scavenger, Restock, E.O.D., Quick Fix and (probably the most popular Perk among many players) Ghost have all been tweaked in different ways in a change to the Season Two Reloaded patch notes, released immediately in-game.

The biggest change for Ghost is the stealth effect that causes players, while a UAV is active, to appear on the minimap only when they are not moving. So players with a Ghost Perk do appear on the minimap when they are just sitting in a building or hiding in a bush, for example. To remain invisible, they must remain in motion. If the Ghost Perk is then active, the player's marker on the minimap fades.

Raven Software responds to the changes

„Before the Caldera map came out, Ghost has always been very effective,“ Raven said. „In Caldera, however, it has become clear that the Perk may have become a bit too strong, as players have the ability to take cover anywhere in covered areas of the map.

„With this change, we want to make a difference in being stationary or moving, to make the Ghost perk less effective. We are looking thoroughly at the way you can move unobtrusively, and the way you can find players on the map. With this, we are trying to create more available options to play with these playstyles, and combat them.“

Another major Perk that has changed is Quick Fix, which now restores players‘ life count once a player uses armor plates. Additionally, a change has been made to Restock, which reduces the recharge timer from 50 to 25 seconds, except for Stims, which now have a 60 second timer. Again, these changes look like they are going to have a big impact on the Call of Duty Warzone meta.
