Valorant Price Update
In the ever-evolving economy of Valorant, the game's in-game currency, Valorant Points (VP), is set to undergo significant price adjustments. These changes will impact how players purchase weapon skins, bundles, and other in-game items.
On September 4, 2024, Riot Games detailed the upcoming updates, which aim to align regional pricing with economic factors and inflation rates. These adjustments will be implemented across various regions, and players are encouraged to take note of the changes that will soon affect their in-game purchasing power.
Why is Valorant Receiving a Regional Price Update?
Riot Games has decided to update the regional prices of Valorant Points (VP) due to several significant factors related to the global economy. Currency exchange rates vary widely across different regions, leading to inconsistencies in VP pricing worldwide. To address this, Riot intends to standardize VP values, promoting fairness in the game's economy.
Third-party manipulation has also become a concern. Some players exploit pricing differences by using VPNs or server transfers to purchase VPs at lower rates in certain regions, then sell them for a profit in other regions. This behavior disrupts the in-game economy and creates an unfair advantage.
Furthermore, changes in local economies necessitate adjustments in VP prices. Some regions require either an increase or decrease in costs to align with their economic conditions. Although these changes may not be favorable for all players, Riot Games believes they are essential for maintaining a balanced and fair pricing model across all regions.

When is the Valorant price update taking place?
The updated regional pricing for Valorant Points will be implemented on September 18, 2024. To facilitate a smoother transition, Riot Games has introduced a special bonus VP offer starting from September 4, 2024. During this period, players can receive extra VP for in-client purchases. For instance, the 2,050 VP bundle, which usually includes 1,900 VP and 150 bonus VP, will now offer a total of 2,200 VP. This bonus offer will remain active until the new prices are officially introduced on September 18, 2024.
It is important to note that servers in Korea, Taiwan, and Japan have different schedules for both the price updates and the bonus VP offer.
