Skem Joins Shopify Rebellion
Shopify Rebellion, a formidable name in the North American Dota 2 scene, is gearing up for DreamLeague Season 23 with a major update to its player lineup. The addition of the versatile Filipino player, Andrei „skem“ Ong, as the new support player, strengthens the team’s strategic depth. Skem's upcoming debut marks a significant moment for the team, aiming to establish a stronger presence in the international arena.
Amidst the intensity of the PGL Wallachia tournament in Romania, where temporary stand-ins have joined due to visa issues with their midlaner, Shopify Rebellion has solidified its roster. A complete lineup is critical as they push forward in the competitive scene, and skem’s proven skill set is well anticipated to complement the existing members: Artour „Arteezy“ Babaev, Erin Jasper „Yopaj“ Ferrer, Jonáš „SabeRLight-“ Volek, and Kartik „Kitrak“ Rathi.
Renewed Aspirations in the NA Dota Sphere
The Shopify Rebellion Dota 2 team recently welcomed a versatile new member to its ranks. At 24, skem brings extensive experience from different team roles, ranging from carry to position five, honed in the competitive environments of Southeast Asia.
Skem's noteworthy start was with Geek Fam, displaying his adaptive playstyle. His endeavors later took him to North America, where he joined compLexity gaming. Despite his strong performance, his journey there was marred by a contentious episode leading to his exit. Undeterred, skem achieved commendable success back in Southeast Asia.
Now, he gets another opportunity to leave his mark in the North American competitive arena as part of Shopify Rebellion, embracing the support role to enhance the team's strategic edge.
Skem Joins Forces with Yopaj at Shopify Rebellion
Former teammates, Andrei ‚Skem‘ Ong and Erin Jasper ‚Yopaj‘ Ferrer, are set to collaborate once again under the Shopify Rebellion banner. Their earlier alliance at BOOM Esports was marked by significant accomplishments, highlighting a triumphant showdown at the Gamers Galaxy Dubai event, where they edged out Tundra Esports in a nail-biting 3-2 finale. Their synergy contributed to BOOM Esports‘ strong showings both at the PGL Arlington Major, securing a top eight finish, and at The International 2022, ending in the top twelve.
Having experienced a tumultuous time post-BOOM Esports, which included a stint at Geek Fam, Skem is moving forward to join Shopify Rebellion. The Dota 2 community is abuzz with anticipation to watch this duo reignite their previous chemistry on a new stage. Their partnership is poised to add a dynamic edge to the team, as they navigate through upcoming competitions.
