Satisfactory New Update September 2024

Coffee Stain Studios has rolled out a new update for the game Satisfactory, focusing on refining multiplayer aspects and dedicated servers while also addressing various bugs. This hotfix aims to improve key elements of gameplay, including resolving issues with coal generators and crashes related to chainsaw use, alongside implementing several UI enhancements.

Despite its modest nature, the update promises to enhance the overall gaming experience and lay the groundwork for more significant future upgrades. The team is actively seeking community contributions for translations and reassures players that additional updates will continue to roll out soon.

Satisfactory September 2024 Update Patch Notes

Error Fixes

  • Fixed a problem where Coal Generators stopped functioning after user interaction under certain conditions.
  • Addressed a crash occurring when using the chainsaw on specific plant life.
    • Note: Some foliage remains non-removable with the chainsaw but can be cleared using the Nobelisk.
  • Removed the feature to take high-resolution screenshots via photo mode, as it was causing crashes.
  • Fixed two crashes linked to AbstractInstance, which occurred during online play or server sessions.
  • Several crashes related to hosting and joining multiplayer games have been resolved.

User Interface

  • Removed the notification for AMD driver updates.
  • Added a tooltip in the Language menu, explaining:
    • Some community translations are temporarily missing due to new content in version 1.0. These translations will be added over time. For those interested in contributing, join our Discord community.

Server Issues

  • Fixed an issue with the Dedicated Server Manager and HTTP API not connecting correctly when only one network adapter is present or when multihome is active.

Problems Still Present

Installation Issues

  • Version 1.0 might not download correctly. This can be resolved by fully exiting Steam or the EGS launcher, verifying game files, and retrying the download.
  • On Steam, an executable error might occur when launching the game. Restarting Steam and verifying game files should resolve this issue.

Language Problems

  • Some languages are absent. Currently supported languages include English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, and both Simplified and Traditional Chinese.
  • Community-driven translations are missing due to new content in Version 1.0. Volunteers are encouraged to help with translations via our Discord server.

Language Switching Issue

  • If issues persist switching between supported languages, exit the game and rename the %LOCALAPPDATA%\FactoryGame\Saved\Config\ folder to %LOCALAPPDATA%\FactoryGame\Saved\Old_Config\, then relaunch the game.

Plugin Error at Launch

  • This error is linked to installed mods, which are currently incompatible with Version 1.0. Users should disable or delete all mods until updates are available.

Shader Cache Crash

  • Users may encounter a fatal error related to shader compilation. This is fixed by forcing DirectX 11 (dx11) as the rendering API with the launch command: -dx11.

Missing Early Access Rewards (Epic Games)

  • Early Access supporters should receive a new Helmet, Build Gun, and Trinket upon launching Version 1.0. These rewards don't appear in the EGS version yet, but developers are working on the issue.

White Static Effect (AMD Radeon 5000 Series GPUs)

  • This problem seems related to faulty AMD GPU drivers. Possible solutions include:
    • Disabling upscaling.
    • Using an alternative to FSR if upscaling is desired.
    • Adjusting FSR application settings incrementally.
    • Forcing DirectX 11 (-dx11) via launch command.

Mouse Sensitivity with V-Sync

  • There's an issue causing sluggish mouse movement when V-Sync is enabled. It's recommended to turn off V-Sync if mouse control feels problematic.

Starting Tier on Dedicated Servers

  • Players are starting at Tier 2 instead of Tier 1 on Dedicated Servers. Developers are working to limit skipped game parts to the intro sequence only, and possibly enabling Tier 0 gameplay on Dedicated Servers.
