‚Samsung Galaxy S23 opts for striking design‘
Smartphone manufacturers actually come out with a new model every year, but it does not always look very different from the previous one on the outside. Take the iPhone 14, for example, which did not live up to rumors of a whole new design. Samsung is reportedly going to change something striking about the Galaxy S23, though.
As cameras on smartphones have gotten bigger and better, it has become common to place them on a sort of island on the back of the phone. That island usually sticks out relative to the rest of the phone and creates something of a bulge. Samsung is going to change that, according to a leak.
Working with noted leaker OnLeaks/Steve H.McFly, Smartprix and Digit have unofficial renders of what the Samsung Galaxy S23 is likely to look like. These show that this phone does not have a camera island. A similar choice was made with the S22 Ultra.
The disappearance of the camera island just does not mean that the back of the phone is now completely flat. In fact, the camera's sensors still stick out. So now you have three protrusions instead of one big island.
When is the release of the Samsung Galaxy S23?
It will be some time before it is certain whether this is indeed the design of the Samsung Galaxy S23. Samsung usually announces its new smartphones in January or February. So it will be a few more months before we get to see a real S23.
