How to Report Voice Chat
The recent updates in Rocket League Season 18 bring a new feature that enhances voice reporting, aligning with similar systems already found in games like Fortnite. This improvement is designed to maintain a safer environment and uphold community standards by enabling players to flag inappropriate conduct in voice chat effectively.
Players now have the tools to report such incidents by sending audio clips directly to Epic Games for evaluation. This innovation not only helps in handling misconduct but also offers users ways to monitor the status of their reports and adjust voice chat settings for optimal gameplay experiences.
Reporting Voice Communication in Rocket League
In Rocket League, players can efficiently address inappropriate behavior in voice chat. To initiate a report, start by accessing the Sidebar and locating the Voice Chat tab. From there, click on „Report Conversation.“ When the report window is visible, complete the process by selecting „Submit Report.“ Afterwards, exit the menu to resume gameplay.
Importantly, the identity of the person making the report remains hidden, protecting users from backlash or conflicts. Consequences are only communicated if disciplinary actions are taken against a user.
To contribute further, players can activate voice reporting options, allowing for the submission of audio clips that aid in community enhancement. However, for those who prefer not to engage this way, the platform provides options to mute or block users contributing to an inappropriate gaming atmosphere, maintaining a safer environment for all players.
How to Adjust Your Voice Chat Settings in Rocket League
Adjustments for Minors
For players under 18, voice reporting is automatically turned on. However, there are options to adjust these settings through parental controls:
- Players can mute themselves or turn off voice chat entirely by selecting “Off” in the Voice Chat settings.
- Parents or guardians have the authority to oversee a child's voice chat preferences through the Epic Account portal, using the Parental Controls provided by Epic Games.
Adjustments for Adults
For players 18 and older, voice chat settings can be personalized as follows:
- Access the Settings menu within Rocket League.
- Proceed to the Voice Chat settings section.
- Within the Voice Reporting options, select from:
- „Always Active“ – Voice reporting remains continuously enabled.
- „Conditional“ – Reporting activates only when a party member has enabled it.
When set to „Always Active“, the voice chat will be captured and submitted for review if a report is lodged. Epic Games takes action against users who violate community standards based on these reports.
How to Determine if Voice Monitoring is Active in Your Group
To find out if voice monitoring is active in your group, players need to check a few settings within the game. Access the Sidebar to view the Voice Monitoring status. If it shows as enabled, any spoken communications might be subject to recording and assessment if a complaint is filed. This allows for better awareness and accountability during gameplay.
How to Track if Your Voice Report Has Been Addressed
After filing a voice report, players can follow the result through a specific URL provided upon submitting a text report. This link directs players to the latest status regarding the action, if any, taken on their feedback.
Duration of Audio Clip Retention by Epic Games
Epic Games retains submitted audio clips for 14 days. During this time, the company reviews the reports to determine if a player's behavior violates community guidelines. If no action is observed within this period, it suggests that the reported behavior did not breach any rules. After the 14-day period, the audio clips are automatically deleted.
